(PUSLINCH TWP, ON) – On Thursday July 11, 2013 at approximately 6:00 pm members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E. spot checks at the intersection of Gore Road and Townline Road in Puslinch Twp when a 1998 Honda Civic entered into the checkpoint.
Police directed the driver to pullover to the shoulder and as they approached the vehicle the driver sped off at a high rate of speed. Officers stopped the car a short distance away and discovered that there were three young children in the vehicle with the driver.
Mandeap Soomal aged 36 of Erin has been charged with Dangerous Driving, Flight From Police and Fail to Provide Breath Sample contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, Drive While Under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and Fail to Surrender Proof of Insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on August 16, 2013 to answer to the charges.
