(South Huron, ON) Grant EISENPORTH (17) of Kitchener and Jacob TRAPLIN (17) of Kitchener were both killed in a four vehicle collision that occurred on May 24th at approximately 4:30 pm. They were two passengers in a westbound Saturn containing five occupants. The vehicle driver was attempting to pass a tractor trailer on Dashwood Road just west of Exeter. The Saturn was not able to complete the pass and struck two eastbound vehicles. The driver of the Saturn is an 18 year old Kitchener male who suffered non-life threatening injuries. Two other 17 year old Kitchener females were taken to the London Health Sciences Center with critical injuries. They remain in stable condition at this time.
One other person was injured in this collision. She is a 33 year old Mississauga woman who was a passenger in the second eastbound vehicle to come in contact with the Saturn. She also suffered non-life threatening injuries and remains in hospital in London.
The investigation remains ongoing and charges are pending for the 18 year old Saturn driver.
Dashwood Road remained closed between Ausable Line and Airport Line until after 11:00 pm yesterday.
