Driver Gets 7 Day Suspension – Must Attend Remedial Alcohol Program

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Saturday morning May 22, 2010, shortly before 3 a.m. a Perth County OPP officer stopped a motorist on Kincaid St. in Listowel and administered a roadside breath test on the driver.

The 30 year old Municipality of North Perth male registered a reading between .05 and .08 blood alcohol concentration. A check with the Ministry of Transportation revealed that this was the male’s second infraction for the same offence. As a result his drivers licence was seized and he was suspended from driving for 7 days. The male will now have to attend a remedial alcohol education program and pay a $150 administrative monetary penalty before receiving his licence back after the 7 days.
