(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) Shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Thursday June 03, 2010 a Perth County OPP officer conducted a traffic stop on Davidson Ave. South in Listowel. The officer stopped a pickup truck with a lone male driver.
The officer detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage on the driver’s breath and conducted a roadside test on the driver. The driver failed the test and was arrested and transported to the North Perth OPP Detachment in Listowel, where he registered over .80 mgs. on the Intoxilyzer.
Gary Mewhinney (53) of Listowel was charged with operating a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of blood alcohol content. He is to appear in criminal court on July 21, 2010 at the Elma Memorial Community Centre in Atwood. He has also been served a 90 day drivers licence suspension.
