(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Wednesday June 23, 2010 shortly after 6:30 p.m. the Twp. of Perth East Fire Dept. (Milverton station) along with Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to the Albrecht Farm on Line 64 east of Milverton where a fire had started in the barn.
Investigation revealed that the family had completed the nightly farm chores and were in their home when fire was observed coming from the milk house area of the barn. The family was able to get 20 of the 60 dairy cattle out of the barn the other 40 perished in the fire.
No personal injuries were sustained by the family or fire fighters.
Investigation is continuing into the cause of the fire.
