This media release is to update the incident from August 14 regarding the injured Guelph Police officer.
The officer has been discharged from the hospital. He sustained a non-critical injury to his upper back and the prognosis is positive that he will make a full recovery. No further details of the injury will be released, respecting the officer’s personal health information.
The Ministry of Labour and Guelph Police Health and Safety investigation are continuing into the cause of the incident, so it is premature to determine what occurred. The Guelph Police are committed to ensuring the safety of our members and the public and have fully cooperated with the Ministry of Labour.
