A woman was arrested yesterday morning in connection with an impaired driving complaint.
At about 7:00 a.m. on Sunday a citizen called police to report a possible impaired driver. Police intercepted the vehicle and investigated the driver. The driver showed signs of impairment and was arrested. During a search incident to the arrest, an officer located brass knuckles. The woman was transported to police headquarters for breath testing where the results indicated her blood alcohol concentration exceeded the legal limit.
A 37-year-old Walpole Island woman has been charged with impaired driving, having a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit, and possession of a weapon.
