Cyclist Collision

On Friday, August 23, 2013 shortly before 1:00 p.m., members of the London Police Service responded to a collision that had occurred within the intersection of Highbury Avenue North and Oxford Street East. A white Chevrolet Astro was travelling south-bound on Highbury Avenue North approaching the intersection, when the vehicle collided with a cyclist who was travelling east-bound on Oxford Street East.

The 18-year-old male cyclist was transported to hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries and has since been discharged. This incident is still being investigated at this time in order to determine the cause of the collision.

The London Police Service would like to remind motorists and cyclists to be aware of one another. With the warmer weather upon us there are a higher volume of cyclists on the road.
