ARREST MADE AFTER THREE WOMEN BEAR SPRAYED

(Prince Edward County, ON) On September 03, 2013 at 10:23pm officers from the Ontario Provincial Police were called to Union St., Picton in response to three women having been bear sprayed by a man. Officers including the OPP K-9 and OPP Emergency Response Team members searched the area; however, the suspect was not located. The victims were treated a Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital.

The police investigation identified the male to be an ex-common law spouse to one of the female victims.

On September 04, 2013 a 32-year old Picton, ON man was arrested. The accused is charged with the following:
Assault With a Weapon, contrary to Section 267 of the Criminal Code of Canada (x3).

Weapon: Possession For Dangerous Purpose contrary to Section 88 of the Criminal Code of Canada (x2).

Weapon: Unauthorized Possession contrary to Section 91(2) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

Breach of Recognizance contrary to Section 811 of the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was held in custody awaiting a bail hearing today in Belleville, ON.
