Barrie Police were called to the WalMart on Mapleview Drive regarding a couple of shoplifters. Prior to police arrival, one male suspect fled on foot. The 25 year old woman was arrested for Theft Under at the store. Conveniently enough, the investigating officer was to appear in Provincial Offences Court on today’s date for a Fail To Remain accident with the same female accused. Due to the fact that she was under arrest yet again, she was not in attendance at court.
The items that were stolen were black berry devices, some were returned to the store; however not all items were recovered. The local woman was taken into custody and held pending her bail hearing on September 11th. There is a warrant being sought for the co-accused male in this occurrence for Theft Under $5000. No one was injured during this incident.
