Update: Break and Enter, Theft of Motorcycle

On morning of the 10th of September 2013, a 19 year old Barrie man broke into a house on Country Lane in the City of Barrie by forcing open a basement window. The male ransacked the home and stole a quantity of cash from a bedroom. He also smashed open a piggy bank containing additional cash that he also stole. The male also stole items, including jewelry, motorcycle clothing and a helmet. The male then forced open a locked gun cabinet and removed a shotgun.

After ransacking the house he made his way to the garage where located a motorcycle. He fled the house on the motorcycle with the stolen property

At about 10:20AM the male was riding the stolen motorcycle on Esther Drive in the City of Barrie. He lost control rode of the motorcycle and went off the roadway, across the sidewalk and a couple of lawns and driveways, before crashing into the garage door of 236 Esther Drive. The male was injured in the crash. The male was taken to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto where he treated for a severely broken leg.
Police investigators attended the hospital on the 11th of September where they interviewed the male. He was formally charged with the following offences:

CHARGE #3: THEFT UNDER $5000 (PROPERTY)
CHARGE #4: THEFT MOTOR VEHICLE
CHARGE #5: POSSESSION STOLEN PROPERTY
CHARGE #6: UNAUTHORIZED POSSESSION FIREARM
CHARGE #7: UNAUTHORIZED POSSESSION FIREARM
CHARGE #8: POSSESION FIREARM IN VEHICLE
CHARGE #9: POSSESSION STOLEN FIREARM
CHARGE #10:POSSESSION BREAK-IN INSTRUMENT
CHARGE #11:FAIL TO COMPLY RECOGNIZANCE
CHARGE #12:FAIL TO COMPLY RECOGNIZANCE

He was released on a Promise to Appear with a future court date. Additional charges with respect to the accident are still pending and are awaiting the results of the accident reconstruction investigation.
