Gas Leak In Walkerton

(WALKERTON ON) – On August 26, 2010 at 11:34 am, the South Bruce OPP received a report of a gas leak in the town of Walkerton. Employees of Aecon directional drilling were running out some cable when a natural gas line was contacted at the corner of Gibson Street and Jane Street.

The South Bruce OPP, Walkerton Fire Department, Hanover Fire Department and Mildmay Carrick Fire Department responded to the call. Residents living in the area were evacuated from their homes to the Walkerton Community Centre in the interest of public safety.
