Alert: Hit and Run – 64 Year Old Byclist – Police Seeking Small Silver Car

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Friday August 27, 2010 shortly before 10:30 a.m. a male was riding his bicycle northbound on Road 122, south west of Stratford, when he was struck by a small north bound car. The impact caused the male to be thrown from his bicycle and land on the roadway. The small silver car did not stop but left the scene and turned right on Lorne Ave. into Stratford.

The 64 year old bicyclist from Stratford was transported to the Stratford General Hospital with undetermined non life threatening injuries.

Perth County OPP officers obtained detailed information from a witness who had observed the collision and was able to provide a licence plate number, details of the car and a description of the driver. A short time later police located the suspect vehicle in the south end of Stratford. A 76 year old female driver from the Township of Perth South has been charged with careless driving and with failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
