(Huron East, ON) On September 3, 2010 at approximately 8:30 pm, a motorist was stopped on Kippen Road after being caught on radar speeding at more than 50 kilometres above the posted speed limit. The female became very agitated and aggressive with police and after several warnings, she was arrested for Obstructing a Peace Officer. The arrest did not cause the behaviour to cease and she resisted her arrest and assaulted the officer while being arrested.
As a result of a routine traffic stop, Katherine UPSHALL (35) of Huron East is now facing one count of Street Racing, one count of Fail to Surrender Licence, one count of Obstruct/Resist Peace Officer and one count of Assault Peace Officer. She will answer to her Criminal charges in the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on October 18, 2010. The officer was not injured.
