Yesterday at about 8:00 pm the accused, a 36 year old Amherstburg man located his former girlfriend at her grandparent’s farm located on Talbot Street in Merlin. There he confronted her regarding her desire to end their relationship, at which time a verbal argument ensued. The victim eventually left the residence in her vehicle.
After leaving this location the victim drove eastbound on Talbot Trail with the accused aggressively following her at a very close distance. Several times the accused drove past the victim and positioned his vehicle in front of hers. He then suddenly slowed his vehicle, forcing the victim to stop her vehicle to avoid a collision.
As a result of his actions, the accused was arrested and charged by police with Criminal Harassment and Dangerous Driving. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
