(NORTH PERTH, ON) A citizen call to police regarding a possible impaired driver has led to an arrest and a charge against a 43 year old from Howick. Just before 1:00 p.m. on September 26, 2013 Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received a call regarding a possible impaired driver travelling westbound on Line 55 near Monkton. A Perth OPP officer was nearby and was able to locate and stop the suspect vehicle, a silver Honda Civic.
Upon speaking with the male driver the officer noted the driver had been consuming alcohol. Further examination by the officer revealed the driver was displaying several signs of impairment. The driver was arrested for Impaired Operation and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. He provided two samples of his breath; both were over the legal limit.
David MCCLINCHEY, 43, from Howick has been charged with Impaired Operation and Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has a court date scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Listowel on November 13, 2013. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
