Stunt driving charge laid

On October 1, 2013 at 10:27 a.m., Guelph Police observed a black motorcycle northbound on Victoria Road North from Hadati Road, weaving through traffic at a very high rate of speed. The motorcycle sped through a construction zone with workers present on Speedvale Avenue East at 103km/hr in a 50km/hr zone before police were able to conduct the traffic stop. The 26-year-old Guelph man driving the bike had an Ontario M1 driver’s licence and was charged with Stunt Driving – Speeding by 50 km/hr or more, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. His driver’s licence was subsequently suspended and his motorcycle impounded, both for a period of seven days.
