Arrest warrant issued for robbery suspect

(Ottawa)— The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit has laid charges in connection to a trio of recent retail robberies and an arrest warrant has been issued for the suspect.

On September 23, 2013, at approximately 2:30 am, a lone suspect entered a convenience store situated along the 1000 block of Wellington Street. The suspect proceeded to make a purchase but when the employee opened the register, the suspect produced a knife and stole cash from the cash tray. A short time later, at approximately 5:00 am, the same suspect entered a convenience store situated along the 800 block of Bank Street. Again the suspect proceeded to make a small purchase and again produced a knife when the register drawer was opened. The third incident occurred a short time later at a convenience store situated along the 200 block of Laurier Avenue. The incident unfolded in a similar fashion but this time no knife was seen.

In all incidents, the suspect fled with a small, undisclosed quantity of cash. There were no injuries in any of the robberies.
