(BLUEWATER, ON) – On October 4, 2013 at approximately 1:20 a.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to the scene of an unoccupied house fire located on Mill Road in Varna. Bayfield Fire Department and Brucefield Fire Department members were able to contain the fire to the residence however the damage to the two-story dwelling is quite extensive.
The dollar value of the damage sustained is not known at this point.
The cause of the fire is suspicious in nature. The Huron County OPP Crime Unit continues to investigate and would like to speak with anyone that may have information regarding this fire or the events leading up to it.
