On Sunday, October 6th, 2013 at approximately 10:55am, an officer responding to an emergency call for service was involved in a collision at the intersection of Adelaide Street at Oxford Street East. The officer was travelling southbound on Adelaide Street operating a fully-marked police cruiser with its emergency lights and siren activated.
The officer entered the intersection and was struck by an eastbound vehicle.
The motion of the second vehicle resulted in two pedestrians standing at the intersection to be struck.
The officer, two occupants of the vehicle and the two pedestrians were transported to hospital for assessment. Injuries are not believed to be serious.
The intersection was blocked for a period of time but has since been re-opened to traffic.
The investigation is continuing.
