Police were called to the rear of a Bayfield Street business with regards to a domestic assault that had occurred at a nearby residence.
A couple had been in their residence and became involved in a verbal dispute. As it escalated the male tried to walk away from his girlfriend. She became enraged, jumped on him and began biting his arm and chest. The victim broke away and ran from the residence. Police attended and arrested a 26 year old female for domestic assault.
While in the station the female again showed her anger by self-inflicting facial injuries that required a trip to the hospital. It did not prevent her from attending bail court.
