Woman Charged with Break and Enter

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman on an outstanding warrant and other property related offences.

On September 23, 2013, the woman was released from custody with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that she was to reside at a specific address in Blenheim.

On October 2, 2013, police learned that the woman was not residing at that residence in Blenheim. Attempts were made to locate the woman, however when unsuccessful, a warrant was issued for her arrest.

On October 14, 2013, the woman attended a family member’s home for Thanksgiving. It wasn’t until she left that the family noticed that she had stolen approximately $6000 worth of items.

Yesterday morning, police were called to a residence in Blenheim in regards to a disturbance. The woman entered another family member’s home uninvited. The woman kicked a door causing a hole in the wall during a verbal argument. The woman left the residence prior to police arrival.

Just before 6:00 p.m. last night, officers located the woman on Flamingo Street in Blenheim and she was arrested on the outstanding warrant. The 18-year-old woman of no fixed address has also been charged with theft over $5000, possession of property obtained by a crime over $5000, break and enter and mischief under $5000. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
