On October 17, 2013 at 8:16 pm, Barrie Police received several 911 calls regarding a head on motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Duckworth Street and Grove Street. Officers arrived and determined one driver was under the influence of alcohol. The 60 year old Barrie resident was subsequently arrested for impaired driving.
He was transported to the Barrie Police Service and provided two breath samples, which resulted in readings of over twice the legal limit.
The driver now faces a November court date along with his Drivers licence being suspended for 90 days and his vehicle being impounded.
The occupants in the other vehicle received minor injuries. The investigation continues.
