(South Huron, ON) On October 29, 2010 shortly before 10:00 pm, a Huron OPP officer stopped a vehicle on Main Street in Exeter. Upon approaching the driver, the officer observed beer bottles and a cooler in the back seat. A strong odour of an alcoholic beverage was also detected on the drivers’ breath. A demand was read for the driver to provide a sample of his breath at the roadside. The driver complied and failed the test. He was then arrested and taken to the Exeter OPP Detachment where he met with a qualified Intoxilizer Technician to provide two more samples of his breath. Both readings confirmed that the driver had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system at the time of driving.
As a result of the investigation, Matthew MILLION (20 ) of Goderich has been charged with one count of Drive With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol, Class G2 Licence Holder Blood Alcohol Content Above Zero, Novice Driver Blood Alcohol Content Above Zero and Drive Motor Vehicle with Liquor Readily Available. He will answer to these charges in the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter on December 16, 2010.
