On October 31, 2013 at 6:55 p.m., the Guelph Police attended to the intersection of Woodlawn Road and Silvercreek Parkway North for a pedestrian struck by vehicle call. Investigation alleges that a 2010 Toyota Corolla operated by a 62-year-old Guelph woman was travelling westbound on Woodlawn Road and entered the intersection at Silvercreek Parkway North. That motor vehicle turned left to southbound Silvercreek Parkway striking the pedestrian, a 56-year-old Guelph man who was crossing Silvercreek Parkway.
The male pedestrian was treated at the scene by Guelph Wellington EMS before being transported to the emergency department of the Guelph General Hospital. He was subsequently transferred to the Regional Trauma Unit at the Hamilton General Hospital suffering from multiple facial fractures and a broken knee. The injuries are not classified as life threatening.
No charges have been laid at this time.
