(CHATSWORTH, ON) – A winter storm is currently settled over Grey County. High winds and blowing snow are creating pockets of zero visibility and very hazardous driving conditions. Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is urging motorists to consider postponing non-essential travel as conditions are deteriorating. The following roads are closed at this time:
– 7th Line from Grey Rd. 31, north to Grey Rd. 40
– Grey Rd. 7 from Kimberley – north to Grey Rd. 40
– Grey Rd. 40 from Grey Rd. 7, west to Hwy. 10
– Euphrasia-Holland Townline from Hwy. 10, north to Walters Falls
Police are currently investigating several motor vehicle collisions in the area and strongly urge motorists to refrain from travelling on the roadways until such time as the weather/road conditions improve.
For those that decide to travel in this storm, keep your headlights and tail lights on and clear of snow. Remember to keep your speed down and keep a safe distance from vehicles ahead.
