As most of you know, most of our sidewalks in Wingham are not cleared in the winter forcing our Citizens to walk in traffic to get where they are going.
Today the Town’s Sidewalk Guy cleared a section by a sidewalk leading to F.E. Madill that was ignored last year. Within minutes of it being cleared, pedestrians were using it! Last year the sidewalk blower operator would drive down the road beside the blocked sidewalk.
Clearing the Community Trail from Maitland River Elementary School to Carling Terrace would also greatly increase student safety, and alleviate some of the traffic congestion around the school if more students could safely walk to school.
