Occurrence Type: Impaired Driver
Occurrence #: BA14057696
Date: Friday, November 28, 2014 – 11:48pm
A Uniform Patrol officer came across a vehicle stopped in the middle of the intersection at Bayfield Street and Wellington Street with a driver behind the wheel. There was damage to the vehicle but no signs of what had caused it. The officer had a conversation with the barely coherent driver and determined that her ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by drugs. There was an autistic child in the vehicle that police managed to find a family member to care for.
The female was arrested and taken to South Simcoe Police Service where she submitted to testing by a Drug Recognition Evaluator and he confirmed that she was under the influence of a narcotic.
A 32 year old Barrie female was charged and released with a court date when sober.
