On Friday November 28, 2014, police responded to the TD Canada Trust located at 450 Columbia St. W, Waterloo, after being alerted by staff that a suitcase had been left behind by an unknown individual. Members of the Patrol branch and Emergency Response Unit attended to investigate. The bank was evacuated as a safety precaution. Upon closer examination, the suitcase and its contents were deemed not to be suspicious. Once police ensured that no threat to the public existed, the bank was re-opened for business. The owner of the suitcase was located and police have no further concerns relating to this matter.
