On December 5/6, 2014 between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. the Guelph Police Service conducted a RIDE program. Officers checked 450 vehicles with thirteen roadside screening tests being administered. Police issued one three day drivers licence suspension for a driver registering a “warn†on the approved screening device.
Guelph Police would like to remind drivers that throughout the holiday season they will continue to conduct random spot checks for persons driving under the influence of alcohol. Registering breath samples over 80 mgs of alcohol per 100 mls of blood will result in an immediate 90 day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension. Convictions for impaired driving and driving with over 80 mgs will both result in a minimum twelve month driving prohibition.
