Drunk Driver In Ridgetown

The Chatham-Kent Police have arrested a man for driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 mls of blood.

At approximately 2:20 am this morning an officer on general patrol observed a motor vehicle being operated in an aggressive manner on Main Street in Ridgetown. The officer conducted a traffic stop and while speaking with the driver, formed the grounds that the driver had alcohol in his system. A roadside test was conducted, which the driver failed.

The driver was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters for further breath testing. As a result, a 22 year old Ridgetown man has been charged with operating a motor vehicle with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 mls of blood. His vehicle was seized for seven days and his driver’s licence suspended for 90 days. He was released with a future court date.
