At approximately 11:30 pm last night the Chatham Kent Police responded to reports of an intoxicated male party causing a disturbance in front of a King Street, Chatham business. When police arrived the male party was found to be in a highly intoxicated state and was arrested for his own safety and transported to police headquarters to sleep off his night of drinking. While in custody he continued to act in a disorderly manner and flushed his shirt down the toilet causing flooding in the immediate area of his cell. As a result of the incident a 44 year old Blenheim man; in addition to receiving a provincial offences ticket for being intoxicated in a public place, now stands charged with criminal mischief and will have to appear in court to answer to his actions.
