Loaded Firearm Recovered in West End

(Ottawa) On December 11th, 2014, the Ottawa Police Service increased the number of Officers in the west end of the city in response to four shootings incidents between November 26th and December 10th.

A traffic stop was conducted in the area of Ramsay Crest and Dumaurier Ave at approximately 10:50pm. During this investigation, a loaded .45 caliber firearm was recovered and two persons were charged and are to be held for showcause.

Michel AURELUS-MARMONTEL, 21 years old, was charged with the following criminal offences and held for Show Cause:

CC 86(1) – USE/HANDLE/STORE FIREARM, ETC. CARELESSLY
CC 88(1) – POSSESS WEAPON, ETC./DANGEROUS TO PUBLIC PEACE
CC 90(1) – CARRY CONCEALED WEAPON, ETC.
CC 91(1) – UNLICENCED PERSON POSSESS UNREGISTERED FIREARM
CC 92(1) – POSSESS FIREARM KNOWING NO AUTHORITY
CC 94(1) – OCCUPY MOTOR VEHICLE WITH FIREARM, ETC.
CC 95(1)- POSSESS OF PROHIB FIREARM WITH AMMO
CC 117.01(1)- POSSESS OF WEAPONS CONTRARY TO PROH ORDER
CC 733.1(1)- BREACH OF PROBATION
Christopher EXUME, 23 years old, was charged with the following criminal offence and will be held for Show Cause:

CDSA 4(1)- POSS OF SCHEDULE II SUBSTANCE.
Guns and Gangs Unit are investigating.
