(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) – On Friday December 12, 2014, shortly before 2 p.m., an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting patrols along Line 32 south of Mitchell when a fast moving vehicle was observed.
A GMC pickup truck was observed travelling east bound on Line 32 at a high rate of speed. The officer activated the police radar and locked the vehicle in at a speed of 137 km/h. This is 57 km/h above the posted 80 km/h zone. The pickup truck was pulled over by the officer, and the 33 year old male driver, a resident of Seaforth was issued a summons for “race a motor vehicleâ€Â. He is to appear at Stratford Court on January 27, 2015, to answer to this charge. His driver’s licence was suspended for seven days and his vehicle was towed from the scene and has been impounded for a week.
