Guelph Transit free on New Year’s Eve – Don’t Drink and Drive

Guelph Transit is providing free extended transit service to riders after 7 p.m. on December 31.

“Extended transit service on New Year’s Eve has been offered each year since 2007, but this is the first year it’s free,” explains Phil Meagher, general manager of Guelph Transit. “Revelers can ring in the New Year and enjoy a free ride home.”

Free extended service runs from 7 p.m. until the last bus leaves Guelph Central Station at 2:15 a.m.

The free transit service is sponsored by the Downtown Guelph Business Association with additional financial support from the Western Hotel, McCabe’s Irish Pub, Bobby O’Brien’s Irish Pub, Trappers Alley, Albion Hotel and Woolwich Arrow Pub.

We’re delighted that so many downtown businesses have contributed to getting people home safely
