Drinking Driver Rolls Pickup Truck And Gets Careless Driving Charge

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) – On Monday December 22, 2014, around 11:30 p.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Perth Road 119 and Perth Line 56 (at the Topping Curve).

Investigation revealed that a Ford F150 pickup truck left the roadway and entered the north ditch where it rolled. The 20 year old male driver, a resident of the Township of Perth East was uninjured as a result of the collision. The male was issued a breath demand and was found to have a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) registering from .05 to .08 The male was issued a three day driver’ licence suspension, and was charged with “careless driving”, in contravention of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

Motorists are urged to not drink alcoholic beverages before getting behind the wheel. If you want to drink, make arrangement to stay the night or have a ride organized. Let’s all enjoy a safe and tragedy free Christmas Holiday!
