Deceased Identified In Fatal Collision On Highway 10

(ARTEMESIA TWP, ON) – On December 23, 2014 at 6:20 p.m., the Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a 2 vehicle crash on Highway 10, south of Markdale, in Artemesia Township. Officers arrived to find a northbound White Pontiac Montana collided head on with a south bound Blue Volvo station wagon in the southbound lane.

There was 1 occupant in each vehicle. The driver of the Pontiac Montana, 57 year old Roberto DIAZ PORTA of Toronto, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Volvo driver was taken to hospital for assessment of non-life threatening injuries.

The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation unit is assisting the Grey County OPP with this incident.

Highway 10 was closed for the protection of emergency responders. It has since reopened to traffic.
