Winter Wheat Crop Damaged

(CULROSS TWP, ON) – On December 23, 2014 at 1:06 pm, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of crop damage from a field at the intersection of Huron-Bruce Road and Side road 5A in Culross Township. Officers noted ruts in the field similar to what would be left by a pick-up truck and an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV). A crop of winter wheat was planted and has been lost where the vehicles travelled. Using someone else’s property without permission is an offence called trespassing. In addition, destruction of property is a criminal offence called mischief that carries a maximum penalty of 2 years in prison. There is no estimated value for the crop damage at this time.
