17 Year Old Drunk Driver From Morris-Turnberry

(NORTH HURON, ON) – A 17 year old driver from Morris-Turnberry is facing a charge of Drive Motor with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol after he was stopped early yesterday morning by police. Shortly before 3:00 a.m. on January 11, 2015 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer encountered a Honda sedan that was travelling northbound on London Road in an erratic manner. Police followed the motor vehicle and watched as the driver failed to drive in the marked lane. A traffic stop was completed just south of Wingham at the intersection of London Road and Amberley Road.

Upon speaking with the male driver it was noted the driver had been consuming alcohol. A roadside screening test was completed and the driver registered a fail. He was placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. He later provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both samples registered over the legal limit.

As a result, a 17 year old Young Person from Morris-Turnberry has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Youth Justice Court – Goderich on February 5, 2015. He also received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
