Members of the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section of the London Police
Service are continuing to investigate a sexual assault that occurred at
approximately 9:10PM on Tuesday, December 30, 2014. The suspect is unknown at this time and the victim was not physically harmed.
The adult female victim was walking southbound on the west side of Richmond
Street from York Street under the railway underpass when she was grabbed from behind by the suspect. The victim resisted the suspect who touched her in a sexual manner. The victim was able to physically ward off the suspect who fled the area on foot in a westbound direction.
UPDATE:
On Friday January 9, 2015 a male suspect was arrested as a result of information received by the public. The investigation is concluded and 30 year-old Travis LOWE, of London is being charged with one count of sexual assault contrary to section 271, subsection 1 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
