On January 13th Barrie Police received information regarding a male dealing large amounts of drugs in the downtown area.
On January 14th officers were approached by a male at the out of the cold program who matched the description of the suspect drug dealer. The male, who provided police with a false name, wanted officers to provide him with transportation.
Investigation revealed the male’s true identity and officers learned that he is before the courts on a number of outstanding charges and that he was breaching several of the conditions of his previous releases. He was arrested for breaching his previous release conditions and found to be in possession of over $10,000 worth of cocaine.
A 22 year old male of no fixed address was charged with two counts of breach of recognizance, breach of undertaking, obstruct police, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of cocaine. He was held pending a bail hearing.
