(HOWICK TOWNSHIP, ON) –Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted an investigation in to illegal firearms at a residence on Fordwich Line, Howick Township. Police obtained a search warrant for the residence and on January 14, 2015, it was executed without issue. The Wellington County Crime Unit and Street Crime Unit (SCU), uniform members from both Wellington County and Huron County, and the Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit (PWEU) attended and seized 2 insecure improperly stored rifles, along with approximately 108 grams of suspected marijuana.
Christopher Curtis BURTON age 43 of Howick Township is charged with;
Trafficking in Firearm – Criminal Code (C.C.)
Uttering Threats – C.C.
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm – C.C.
Careless Storage of Firearm – C.C.
Possession of Marihuana over 30 grams- Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Bail Court on January 15, 2015.
