Democracy Experiment That Showed Councillor Was As Useful As Chicken Nipples – We Want Our $50,000 Back Please!

As many of you know, WFP has been fighting to get missing signage
replaced on Victoria Street.   The signs were taken down
during the Big Dig since traffic was re-routed down
Veterans/Diagonal Road.  Over 1/2 a dozen requests were made
to councillor Bernie Bailey to have the signs replaced.  Each
time it was mentioned to Mr. Bailey, he would say he would try to
remember this time and take action.  This continuing failure of
Mr. Bailey led to the WFP increasing scrutiny and rhetoric, in an
attempt to get Bailey to act on this Public safety issue.  It
also took repeated badgering to get Mr. Bailey to request financial
data regarding the Howson Dam fund.  When he finally did
capitulate, all it took was for him to spend a couple seconds
emailing town hall to get the info.  Even the simplest of tasks
seemed over burdensome to this man, even though was paid about
$1,000 a month to Represent the People.  Getting the North
Huron calendar updated also turned out to be a futile task, as
monthly requests/demands were required to achieve this tiny baby
step toward transparency.
