Press Release – 19 January 2015 to 25 January 2015
19 Jan 2015 at 2:01 am a Hanover man was arrested by the OPP on a warrant held by Saugeen Shores Police. The warrant was for Provincial Offences Act violations. This man was found to be in possession of a small baggie of crystal methamphetamine and was charged with that offence also.
8:28 am police received a report of a motor vehicle collision at Waterloo and Green St. A vehicle was stopped at a stop sign at that intersection and was struck from behind by another vehicle. Minor contact, no charges.

12:59 pm police received a complaint of a motor vehicle collision that occurred the previous day. The collision happened on private property in the Canadian Tire parking lot. Both drivers exchanged information.
21 Jan 2015 1:22 pm police responded to a motor vehicle collision in the Canadian Tire parking lot. Minimal damage. The responsible driver had left the scene but was contacted later for her driver and vehicle information and reminded of her responsibilities.
6:45 pm police responded to a motor vehicle collision that occurred in the parking lot of Elgin Lodge. Minor damage, no injuries.
22 Jan 2015 6:13 pm police responded to a motor vehicle collision fail to remain at the Plex parking lot. A witness came to the police office to report seeing a person back his vehicle into another vehicle, the driver got out to look at the damage then left the area. A second witness observed the same incident. A licence number provided to police identified the responsible vehicle and driver. The driver was charged with Failing to Report an Accident.
Drivers have an obligation both legally and morally to report a collision. If you strike another vehicle and the damage in total looks to be under $1000 both drivers can exchange vehicle and driver information and police are not required to be called. If you strike another parked vehicle or object and cause damage you are required to report it.

3:57 pm police on patrol observed a male walking with a bottle of beer. He was charged with having an open bottle of alcohol.
10:23 pm police received a complaint of two intoxicated males on Railway St. The males were located and were found to be intoxicated and both had open alcohol on their person. They were arrested for public intoxication and lodged in the cells until sober.
24 Jan 2015,
7:58 pm a police cruiser was parked in a parking lot in Port Elgin, unoccupied. Another vehicle reversed into the cruiser damaging the front bumper. No charges.
11:15 pm police conducted RIDE in Southampton. No violations.
25 Jan 2015,
1:30 pm police received a report of a fail to remain collision that occurred in a municipal parking lot on the 23rd of January. A driver returned to her vehicle to find it had been struck causing damage to the front end, no suspects.
