On the evening of March 19th Barrie Police attended a north end apartment in regards to a noise complaint. Upon arrival police were met by an intoxicated, belligerent female. Police learned that the female was on probation with conditions not to consume alcohol. As an officer attempted to arrest the female, her boyfriend intervened and the pair fled into the apartment locking the officers out. A short time later police arrested the female for breach of probation and the male for obstruct police. Further investigation revealed that the woman had assaulted her boyfriend before and after he had attempted to prevent her arrest. A 31 year old Barrie woman was charged with assault and breach of probation and held pending a bail hearing. A 41 year old Barrie male was charged with obstruct police and released with a future court date.
