(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – After an ongoing investigation, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of Grey County OPP Crime Unit have arrested and charged two people in connection with thefts (shoplifting) from Staples, Deals Surplus and TSC Store, all located on Hwy. 6 & 21 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.
The thefts occurred between February 6th and 19th, 2015. The stolen property included head phones, computer key board a mouse pad and a compact driver drill.
On March 16th, Grey County OPP arrested Joseph William HAMMILL, age 31, of Owen Sound. HAMMILL, who has been charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property, is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on Thursday, March 26, 2015.
On March 17th, members of the Grey County Crime Unit arrested Blanka BALOGH, age 18, of the Township of Chatsworth, outside a coffee shop in Owen Sound at which time she was found to be in possession of a prohibited weapon (flick knife). She was transported to the Chatsworth OPP Detachment where she was abusive and exhibited erratic behaviour, causing damage to the holding cell.
She has been charged with a number of offences including, theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property, mischief under $5,000 and unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon (flick knife) and is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on Thursday, March 26, 2015.
