Pedestrian Struck In Owen Sound

On Wednesday police began an investigation into a collision in relation to one of the entrances to Heritage Place Mall. An Owen Sound woman was crossing the street when she was struck by a motor vehicle being operated by a Walkerton man, as he was making a turn onto 16th Street East. The pedestrian attended the hospital where she was treated for minor injuries. The investigation concluded Thursday with the driver being charged with Fail to Yield to Pedestrian under the Highway Traffic Act.

On Thursday just after 830 a.m. police responded to the Beer Store with respect to a workplace accident. An employee of the store as well as an employee of a brewery were unloading a trailer containing pallets of beer when an electric fork lift struck a metal wall cap. The impact caused the cap to become dislodged from the wall and struck the brewery employee in the leg. The gentleman was transported to hospital by ambulance with respect to the laceration he sustained. The Ministry of Labour was notified of the incident.
