Drunk Driver Leaves 4 & 7 Year Old Home Alone

Shortly before 8:00pm on March 28th Barrie Police received a 911 call from a west-end residence. Police attended and found two young children, ages 4 and 7, unattended in the residence. While officers were on scene attempting to locate an adult, the father of the children arrived in a vehicle. Officers spoke to the male and found that he had gone to play pool leaving the children unattended.

Police also found that he had been drinking while playing pool and he was arrested for impaired driving. Police tracked down the mother of the children who was at work. She returned to the residence to look after the children and the father was taken to the Police Station where he provided breath samples which resulted in a charge of care or control over 80. A 33 year old male was charged with over 80 and failing to provide the necessities of life. He was released with a future court date.
