(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Thursday April 09, 2015, around 10:30 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was advised that a vehicle backed into a tree and struck another vehicle in a driveway along Toronto St. East in Mitchell.
Investigation revealed that a car backed out of a garage and drove into a tree. The car drove back into the garage when it reversed onto the driveway again striking a car that was parked there. A witness ran over to the driver of the car, spoke with her and requested the car keys. The keys were handed to the witness.
Upon police arrival, the female driver of the car was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. She was transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville where she failed two Intoxilyzer breath tests.
Nathalie LEGAULT (47) of the Municipality of West Perth has been charged with, “drive while ability impaired”, and “drive with over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mls of blood”, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on May 04, 2015, where she will have to answer to the charges. She has received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and her motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
