On 11 April 2015 shortly after 11pm Owen Sound Police were conducting a ride in the 800 block of 6th Street East. A grey 97 Ford Ranger approached their location in an east bound direction and drove through the check point ignoring the officer’s direction to stop.
The vehicle in question was stopped a few blocks away and the driver, a 48 year old Thornbury male was investigated. The driver showed evidence that he had been drinking and subsequently failed a road side test. The driver was arrested and returned to the station where he provided samples of his breath which registered nearly twice the legal limit.
The driver was charged with driving with over of 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood and released on a promise to appear with an April 23, 2015 court date.
